Other
Activities
For sure, skiing and snowboarding are the primary attractions
for visiting Mammoth Lakes in the Winter. But you can also partake
of snowmobiling, cross-country (Nordic) skiing, snow-shoeing,
tobogganing, ice skating and dog-sledding.
In the Summer, Mammoth
Mountain turns into a giant bike park and there are an abundance
of other biking trails in the city and adjacent countryside.
Bike rentals are plentiful.
Mammoth Lakes is also
a convenient “home
base” for trips to Yosemite, which is an easy drive. Other
popular side trips in the area include the famed ghost town of Bodie,
Mono Lake, and the June Lake Loop.
If it’s golf
you crave, the condo is across the street from the spectacular
Sierra Star 18-hole golf course. Just a short drive away is the
9-hole course and driving range at Snow Creek., which has equally
magnificent views. And it’s
only a 45-minute drive to the nice 18-hole course in Bishop –which
is open all year round.
Other fun things to
do in the Mammoth Lakes area include hiking, fishing, boating,
mountain climbing, photography, motorcycle riding and horseback
riding.
